In the middle of a season-long quarterback controversy in the New England Patriots locker room due to poor play, an AFC contender actually found enough interest in one to sign them to their roster in Week 15. The Baltimore Ravens reportedly signed a quarterback off the Patriots practice squad Tuesday.
The Patriots benched former first-round pick Mac Jones in favor of Bailey Zappe this season. Zappe led the Patriots to an upset win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football in Week 14. While Zappe’s play won’t be enough to keep the Patriots from drafting a quarterback in 2024, the team lost another quarterback they had high hopes for.
The Ravens sign a former New England Patriots QB
According to Adam Schefter with ESPN, the Ravens signed Malik Cunningham off the Patriots practice squad and to their 53-man roster. Cunningham, a former teammate of Lamar Jackson in college, will join the Ravens on their quest to win a Super Bowl this winter.
A Louisville reunion in Baltimore: the Ravens are signing QB Malik Cunningham off the Patriots’ practice squad and on to their roster, Cunningham told ESPN today. Cunningham now will finish the season in Baltimore and go to the playoffs.

Cunningham went undrafted this season but found a spot on the field this season for the Patriots. Cunningham can be used as a wide receiver or quarterback, and the Patriots had a special package designed for him.
One would assume the Ravens will find ways to get the football in the speedy athlete’s hands this season.
