On Tuesday, a significant development unfolded in the NFL draft scene. Reports suggesting those close to former LSU Football dual-threat signal-caller and potential top-five NFL draft pick Jayden Daniels are reluctant to have the gunslinger drafted by the New England Patriots began to trend on Twitter (also known as X). However, Daniels swiftly and decisively denied these rumors, using an emoji to express his disagreement. In a tweet, he countered the claim that those around him don’t want him drafted by New England, using the baseball cap emoji, a popular way on social media to call something a lie or exaggeration.
Former LSU Football QB Jayden Daniels: Shuts Down Recent Reports of Not Wanting to Play for New England Patriots
On Monday, Patriots insider Phil Perry posted an article on NBC Sports Boston stating that some of those closest to LSU gunslinger and consensus top-ranked NFL draft prospect Jayden Daniels do not want to see the Heisman Trophy winner play in the Northeast.

“There are questions among NFL coaches as to how Daniels—who is from California and played at Arizona State and LSU—would adapt to the playing conditions in New England. It’s my understanding there are those in his camp who prefer Daniels doesn’t end up in the Northeast,” said Perry.
The football Twitter page JPAFootball tweeted it out on Tuesday, reaching over one million views in less than eight hours after posting. Daniels quickly debunked the report, suggesting he is ready to play for any team that selects him in April’s NFL draft.
Jayden Daniels: Among The Highest Ranked Quarterbacks for the 2024 NFL Draft
Daniels will be among the top quarterbacks selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. Last season, Daniels won the Heisman with the LSU Tigers, completing 72% of his passes for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns. He also ran for 1,134 yards and ten scores. The six-foot-three, 185-pound quarterback started his career with the Arizona State Sun Devils in 2019, throwing 2,943 yards, 17 touchdowns, and two picks as a freshman. However, he struggled the following two seasons before joining Brian Kelly at LSU for the 2022 season.
According to NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah’s most recent mock draft, he has the New England Patriots skipping over Daniels to select Ohio State wideout Marvin Harrison Jr. Meanwhile, he has the New York Giants snagging Daniels with the sixth overall pick, signaling the end of the Daniel Jones.
