The Los Angeles Rams entered the offseason hoping to retain their ideal five starting offensive linemen for the 2025 season. Los Angeles retained left tackle Alaric Jackson to a 3-year, $51 million contract extension on Friday, while left guard Steve Avila and center Beaux Limmer are still on their rookie contracts, and right guard Kevin Dotson is in Year 2 of his 3-year, $48 million contract. Finally, the Rams right tackle enters the final year of his contract, but he faces an uncertain future.
The Los Angeles Rams RT faces an uncertain future

Rob Havenstein faces an uncertain future given his age, as he turns 33 in May, his recent injury history, and his cap hit. Havenstein played the second-fewest games in his career in 2024, appearing in 11 regular season games, missing six weeks (Weeks 1, 10-12) with an ankle injury, and (Weeks 17-18) with a shoulder injury. When he played, the talented right tackle didn’t skip a beat, surrendering 20 pressures, 12 hurries, five QB hits, and three sacks, posting a 66.9 pass blocking, a 78.3 run blocking, and a 74.1 overall PFF grade.

Havenstein enters the final year of his 3-year, $34.5 million contract. He is set to earn a $6.5 million base salary along with a $11.37 million cap hit in 2025. If they were to release him, the Rams would free up $4.53 million and incur a dead cap hit of $6.84 million, making him a potential cap casualty.
The Los Angeles Rams announce key player returning in 2025

According to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic, Head Coach Sean McVay announced during Monday’s press conference, confirmed that Rob Havenstein will return to the Rams for the 2025 season. Havenstein will complete the final year of his contract and will be an unrestricted free agent in 2026, unless they can get a deal done. Finally, their ideal five starting offensive linemen will be back next season.
Rob Havenstein and Tyler Higbee will be back in 2025, McVay confirms. They are not free agents but at their age/both entering final years on deal it merited the confirmation.
