“It’s No Other B.S.;” Los Angeles Rams WR Davante Adams Trashes Former Teams Ahead of 2025 NFL Season

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams may be new to the team, but he is no stranger to the culture that head coach Sean McVay has created. McVay, of course, came from the same coaching tree as Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur, whom Adams played for from 2019-2021.

Prior to LaFleur’s arrival in Green Bay, Adams was already a Pro Bowl wide receiver. But after he became the Packers head coach, Adams thrived even more. He made three more Pro Bowls in LaFleur’s offense and was named First Team All-Pro twice.

But there were several situations in Green Bay that affected Adams’ desire to stay with the Packers. Aaron Rodgers was flirting with retirement even back then, and Jordan Love was an unknown commodity. Additionally, the Packers front office did not offer their All-Pro wide receiver the kind of contract that he felt he deserved.

As a result, he requested a trade, a decision that took him on a journey to some of most dysfunctional teams in the NFL.

The Packers honored Adams’ request and traded him to his preferred team, the Las Vegas Raiders, ahead of the 2022 NFL Draft in exchange for a first and second round pick. And while Adams made his third consecutive First Team All-Pro during his first season with the Raiders, it did not take him long to realize it was not going to be as good of a situation as he thought.

One of the reasons Adams wanted to play for Las Vegas in the first place was because of Derek Carr, their starting quarterback and Adams’ college teammate. The Raiders sent Carr home early during the 2022 season and eventually released him.

Adams became increasingly unhappy in Las Vegas with the constant head coach and quarterback back changes the following season. When the organization did not exhibit any signs of improvement early in the 2024 NFL season, Adams again requested a trade.

This time, he was sent to the New York Jets, where he reunited with Rodgers. And while he put up good numbers with the Jets, the team did not want to retain him after the season ended. He, like his future Hall of Fame teammate (Rodgers), was released.

Davante Adams Has High Praise for the Los Angeles Rams Organization

Speaking with reporters during Rams mandatory minicamp, Adams, who signed a two-year deal with Los Angeles earlier in offseason, made no secret of the fact that he thinks his new team is in a much better place than his previous two teams.

“I feel like this is what I needed just based off the vibe and the aura of the building,” Adams said, according to ESPN. “And everybody’s in a good mood. It’s not like a dark cloud over the building. And I’ve experienced that quite a bit over the last few years. So, it’s a glaring difference when you come into a building like this.

“It’s just about ball. It’s no other B.S.”

“And [they’ve] got a really good quarterback in here. Got a really good, young team that shows a lot of promise and was obviously really close to being able to have a chance at the whole thing last year. So, just knowing how hungry this team is and seeing the work that they’re still putting in after having a year last year just kind of confirms that I’m in the right place.”

Both of Adams’ past two teams, the Jets and Raiders, have new head coaches this season, which is a strong indication that the three-time All-Pro is not wrong in his assessment that there was a lot of “B.S.” going on during his time with those two organizations.
