The Los Angeles Chargers are rumored to be shopping for a decent receiver to add to their roster. After the season-ending injury to star Mike Williams, their receiving room has been slim with Keenan Allen being the main focal point of the offense. A trade scenario by Bleacher Report has suggested that the team should try to add Cincinnati Bengals receiver Tee Higgins to the team.
Los Angeles Chargers Receiving Room
Los Angeles has more problems to address on the defense than they do on the offense, but this move would help the air attack led by Justin Herbert soar to new heights in the second half of the season. The Chargers suffered a devastating season-ending injury to their star receiver Mike Williams who suffered a torn ACL. Rookie Quentin Johnston and Joshua Palmer are the other options for Herbert currently excluding Allen.
Los Angeles could shock the NFL world by making a huge trade for Higgins before the end of the trade deadline. He would most likely become one of Herbert’s favorite targets on the offense and he is only getting better. The combination of him and Allen out wide would be a terrifying duo to opposing defenses.
Tee Higgins Impact
Higgins has had a rather quiet season this year, only amounting to 218 receiving yards and two touchdowns. However, he is coming off two 1,000-plus-yard seasons and has emerged as a top receiver in the National Football League. His current quarterback Joe Burrow has taken advantage of his talents.
As for the Chargers, they are sitting at a 3-4 record eight weeks through the season and looking to trend upward. Although they have many problems with their defense, their receiving room is thinning out with no real great options besides Keenan Allen. Adding Higgins to the team would be a huge boost for the offense and could help them compete with the better teams.
