The Detroit Lions are attracting all sorts of attention for their incredible run in the postseason. While many are praising the grit and determination of Dan Campbell’s squad, a select few took the opportunity to throw mud at the NFC North champions’ incredible postseason run.
One of the team’s legends decided to fire back at one such allegation.
Barry Sanders doesn’t think highly of Skip Bayless’ opinions
Undisputed host Skip Bayless had this to say after the Lions’ 31-23 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last weekend. To say he was unimpressed with the Lions’ chances to emerge out of the NFC is an understatement if we look at this tweet.
Congrats, Lions. You have won the right to get blown out at San Francisco. But hey, great year.

Bayless is no stranger to controversy and isn’t averse to unleashing hot takes that would get a lot of people riled up and talking about him. In fact, you could say that he loves the attention he’s getting.
However, Barry Sanders clapped back with a jab that had Lions fans celebrating and many NFL fans nodding in agreement.

Sanders is a Detroit legend who spent all of his 10 years in the NFL with the Lions. The former running back was named All-Pro six times and was a Pro Bowler throughout his storied career. He notched 12,269 rushing yards, 99 TDs, and 5.0 yards per carry from 1989 to 1998.
While he never won a Super Bowl in his tenure with Detroit, he is a team legend who will not be replaced. His sentiment was greatly welcomed by the city and millions of NFL fans around the world.
Goff echoes Sanders’ Bayless take
It can be assured that many voices in the Lions locker room agree with Sanders’ opinion, the most vocal of them being Goff.
The Lions QB didn’t even give Skip’s take he time of day in a radio interview with Doug Karsch and Scott Anderson of 97.1 The Ticket in Detroit, per For The Win!:
“Nah, I don’t care about anything he says,” Goff said. “You can stop now. Anything those guys say on daytime TV, you can skip over that.”
Given the way Goff simply snubbed anything Bayless said, you can be assured that he’s zeroed in on their upcoming game against the San Francisco 49ers. He had a solid season under Dan Campbell, passing for 4575 yards and 30 touchdowns while notching two rushing TDs as well.
It’s now up to him and his team to prove Bayless wrong by taking down the juggernauts in San Fran.
