It’s no secret that Davante Adams is unhappy in Las Vegas and could see much more team success elsewhere. With frustrations quickly growing for the All-Pro receiver, Adams could very well be on the move. An NFL insider recently listed six teams that could potentially land Adams if he were to be traded. Among those teams was the Cleveland Browns. A certain celebrity fan was quick to jump on the recruitment wagon as he took to social media.
LeBron James tries to recruit Adams on Twitter
Growing up in Akron, Ohio, Cleveland legend LeBron James has been an “off and on” Browns fan. While it’s clear he also supports the Dallas Cowboys, he seems to switch back and forth between the two teams.
With the news of the Browns becoming a potential trade destination for Adams, it didn’t take long for James to bud into the conversation. James replied with a gif to a tweet made by “Down With The Browns Podcast” in which they announced the possibility of Adams to Cleveland. The GIF said, “God if you listenin’… Help!”.
If this news dropped last year, it wouldn’t have made much sense for the Browns to go all-in for just a few games. However, now that Watson is back playing the entire season, he could help lead the Browns to a playoff appearance. It would be difficult without Nick Chubb, but adding a superstar receiver to the roster could greatly benefit Watson and the rest of the team. He already has weapons like Amari Cooper and David Njoku, but there isn’t much help outside of those two.
Their playoff implication will rely significantly on the play of Kareem Hunt as he will have to fill some very large shoes. Adding another elite weapon would take the pressure off the run game and allow Watson to have a comeback season. Talk of Adams to Cleveland is definitely not a sure thing, but the possibility should definitely excite Browns fans.
