Jerry Tillery spent his first 3.5 seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Los Angeles drafted Tillery in the 1st round, 28th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. Tillery appeared in 15 games and started three in 2019. He had 17 tackles, three for a loss, three QB hits, two sacks, and a 35.5 PFF Grade, representing 39% of defensive snaps.
Tillery appeared in 16 games and started 11 in 2020. He had 30 tackles, three for a loss, 14 QB hits, three sacks, two pass deflections, two forced fumbles, and a 43.9 PFF Grade, representing 72% of defensive snaps.
Tillery appeared in 16 games and started 15 in 2021. He had 51 tackles, six for a loss, 14 QB hits, 4.5 sacks, and a 46.3 PFF Grade, representing 79% of defensive snaps.
Los Angeles declined his 5th-year option after the 2021 season. Tillery appeared in 7 games with Los Angeles in 2022. He had eight tackles, two QB hits, one sack, and one forced fumble, representing 43% of defensive snaps. Los Angeles released him on November 10.
Tom Telesco stated that cutting Tillery in 2022 was not an easy decision.
“Jerry has been a valued member of our organization since arriving in 2019, and I want to thank him for all his contributions to the Chargers. This was not an easy decision but, after careful consideration, it was a necessary one that is in the best interest of both team and player. We wish Jerry all the best moving forward in his career.”

Las Vegas claimed Tillery off waivers on November 14. Tillery appeared in eight games and started four in Las Vegas. He had ten tackles, two QB hits, and a 49.8 PFF Grade, representing 49% of defensive snaps.
Las Vegas signed him to a 2-year, $6.8 million contract extension during the 2023 offseason. Tillery appeared in 17 games and started six in 2023. He had 31 tackles, two for a loss, six QB hits, two sacks, and a 67.7 PFF Grade, representing 45% of defensive snaps.
