Despite not coaching the Las Vegas Raiders for the season’s final nine games, players did not give former head coach Josh McDaniels any slack regarding the NFLPA survey published on Tuesday. Per NFL insider Ari Meirov, McDaniels earned the worst grade among the 32 NFL head coaches.
McDaniels received a ‘D’ grade, while Washington’s Ron Rivera came in 31st place with a ‘C’. Meanwhile, Kansas City’s Andy Reid, Detroit’s Dan Campbell, and Minnesota’s Kevin O’Connell tied at the top with an A+ mark.
Josh McDaniels: Roasted by NFLPA Player Survey

McDaniels received the worst grade amongst NFL head coaches in the NFLPA’s second player survey report card. The Raiders hired McDaniels in 2022, and after compiling a 9-16 record, the AFC West club fired him. The 47-year-old now sits at 20-33 as an NFL head coach after two failed stints, the first previously coming with the Denver Broncos from 2009 to 2010.

The Raiders turned to linebackers coach Antonio Pierce after McDaniels’ firing, with the interim frontman leading the team to a 5-4 record. Unlike McDaniels, Pierce received glowing reviews from his players during the season. The former Super Bowl champions also led Las Vegas to a 63-21 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, marking one of the most lopsided victories in franchise history.
Las Vegas Raiders: Earn Highmarks Elsewhere

Despite earning the league’s worst grade in the head coaching department, the Las Vegas Raiders flashed elsewhere. They received a ‘B’ grade or better in food, nutrition, locker room, training room, training staff, weight room, strength coaches, and owner. The Raiders relocated to Las Vegas in 2020 to play in a new $1.9 billion stadium. Allegiant Stadium, the home of the Raiders, is one of the more spectacular sporting venues in the country, housing equally impressive facilities. The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers faced off in Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium earlier this month.
Alongside coaching, the Raiders fell short in the treatment of families. However, they still ranked well higher than the Los Angeles Chargers, who were under fire on Tuesday after reports surfaced that they charge for daycare that remains offsite.
