The Las Vegas Raiders General Manager, John Spytek, recently told reporters who he will be selecting as the sixth overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. Apparently, Spytek’s oldest son, Jack, is hell-bent on bringing Ashton Jeanty to the Raiders team. Jack is so confident of his decision, mainly because of his knowledge about fantasy football. He even went on to discuss the same with the team owner, Mark Davis.
Ashton Jeanty last played for the Boise State Broncos, whom he joined back in 2022. Before that, Jeanty impressed scouts in his high school career with Lone Star in Texas. In his most recent season, the running back managed a total of 354 carries for 2,601 yards, scoring 29 touchdowns.
“My oldest son has made it no secret that if we don’t pick Ashton Jeanty at 6 that he’s walking out of the family and he’s gonna find somebody else, probably whoever takes Ashton. Jack is motivated by fantasy football and touchdowns… He walked right into our building and basically told Mark Davis if my dad doesn’t take Ashton Jeanty, he’s doing a bad job.” John Spytek said during the NFL Annual Meeting.

The Las Vegas Raiders are definitely hoping to revamp their roster for a better season next up, after finishing their previous season last in the AFC West with only four wins and 13 defeats. The Raiders played their very last game of the season against the Los Angeles Chargers, losing 34-20.

Las Vegas Raiders Are Still Making Tweaks To Geno Smith’s Contract
On another note, the Las Vegas Raiders are definitely interested in retaining their new quarterback, Geno Smith for a long time. According to head coach Pete Carroll’s statements in the NFL Annual Meeting, the team is trying to sign a long-term contract extension with Smith. Smith was recently traded to the Las Vegas Raiders by the Seattle Seahawks.

Smith played for the Seahawks from 2019 to 2024, and managed a total of 4,320 passing yards last year, with 21 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. Smith entered the NFL after being selected by the New York Jets as the 39th pick in the second round of the 2013 draft. Before that, the quarterback played for the West Virginia Mountaineers from 2009 to 2012, impressing scouts during his time there.

Geno Smith has collected a number of titles in his career on the field. Back in 2022, Smith was named the NFL Comeback Player of the Year. He has also been to two Pro Bowls. In his entire career till date, Smith has managed a total of 1,721 pass completions with a 64.8 percentage pass completion rate.
