Cowboys’ Micah Parsons Rips Jerry Jones, Calls Him “Disrespectful” Amid Contract Negotiations

The Dallas Cowboys made Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb two of the highest paid ever at their respective positions last off-season.  Next up is Micah Parsons, who is having an incredible start to his career.  However, contract negotiations don’t seem to be going too smoothly at the moment.

According to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team:

Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones has been negotiating directly with Micah Parsons on an extension, offering him a contract that would make him the highest-paid non-QB in the NFL, per clarencehilljr.

Here’s the twist: The Cowboys conducted all negotiations without Parsons’ agent and haven’t communicated with him since the combine. Parsons will not sign without his agent’s approval (which is the smart move).

Here is the full video of Jones’ comments:

Here’s Jerry Jones saying Micah Parsons’ agent isn’t a factor in negotiations—even going as far as to say he doesn’t know his agent’s name.

Parsons is repped by David Mulugheta, one of the most well-known and recognizable NFL agents.

However, Cowboys beat reporter Clarence Hill Jr. doesn’t agree with Jones’ comments:

Jerry Jones with blatant disrespect to Micah Parsons agent David Mulugheta: The agent is not a concern here … I don’t know his name.” Mulugheta is one best and most respected agents in the NFL. Parsons is wise to have hired Mulugheta.

Parsons took the side of the beat reporter and his agent:

Facts!! David is the best and I will not be doing any deal without David Mulugheta involved! Like anyone with good sense I hired experts for a reason.

There is no one I trust more when it comes to negotiating contracts than David! There will be no backdoors in this contract negotiation.

This is certainly a concerning update for Parsons’ future with Dallas.  If Jerry Jones upsets Micah Parsons enough, he won’t want to return to the team.  Here is a look at his stats so far in his career:
