College Football Fans Demand Lane Kiffin Be Fired From Ole Miss After Leaked Audio Appears

College football fans reacted to the leaked audio between Mississippi head coach Lane Kiffin and defensive tackle DeSanto Rollins on X.

Per David Eckert of The Clarion-Ledger, on Tuesday, the school and Kiffin filed a motion to dismiss Rollins’ lawsuit where the player is asking for $40 million:

“Rollins, in the complaint filed in September, alleged that Kiffin kicked him off the team in March while berating him over his mental health issues. He is seeking $10 million in compensatory damages from Kiffin and Ole Miss, and $30 million in punitive damages from Kiffin. He is also seeking a temporary restraining order, as well as an injunction reinstating him, based on the following allegations

• Racial discrimination on the part of Kiffin and Ole Miss

• Discrimination on the basis of disability – or perceived disability – on the part of Kiffin and Ole Miss

• Sexual discrimination on the part of Ole Miss

• Intentional affliction of emotional distress on the part of Kiffin

• Negligence and gross negligence on the part of Kiffin and Ole Miss”

Leaked audio of Lane Kiffin appears

On the same day the motion to dismiss was filed, leaked audio of Kiffin’s conversation with Rollins appeared all over social media after a post by Front Office Sports.

Kiffin told Rollins he should have met with Kiffin before the conversation they had that was on the recording. The conversation includes Kiffin telling Rollins he was off the Ole Miss football team and allegedly questioning an emotional Rollins if the player didn’t hide behind mental health issues as an excuse for not showing up to work:

“Get out of here. Go, you’re off the team. You’re done. See ya. Go,” Kiffin said. “And guess what? We can kick you off the team. So go read your f—— rights about mental health. We can kick you off the team for not showing up. When the head coach asks to meet with you, and you don’t show up for weeks, we can remove you from the team. It’s called being a p—-. It’s called hiding behind s— and not showing up to work.”

College football fans demand Lane Kiffin be removed from Ole Miss

Many fans on social media felt Kiffin overstepped his bounds during his conversion with Rollins. Many fans think Kiffin should be fired or step down from the school because of the leaked audio.

That seems extreme, especially coming from a brief audio clip where the discussion is about not explaining to a head coach why a person is absent from work. Other fans agree and think Kiffin had a right to say what he did to Rollins.
