It seems that Kenneth Gainwell needs a reminder to keep his head in the game at all times. During halftime of Philadelphia’s 38-31 victory, Gainwell responded to a DM that he received for fumbling the ball. Nick Sirianni confirmed that it was real and that the team spoke to him about it.

Gainwell had a rough day on the ground, finishing with -4 yards on two carries. He was more productive in the passing game, hauling in five passes for 30 yards. It wasn’t Kenneth Gainwell’s best day, but it didn’t cost the team in the end.
One of his biggest plays on Sunday came right after halftime. On third and five, Gainwell caught a 15-yard pass from Jalen Hurts to move the chains. Ultimately, the drive stalled at the one-yard line when Jalen Hurts fumbled trying to punch it in.
Philadelphia is now 7-1 this season as they eye another trip to the Super Bowl. They may not be as dominant as last year’s team, but they still own the NFL’s best record after Week 8. No team, especially not Nick Sirianni’s Philadelphia Eagles, will ever apologize for winning. Even if it’s ugly sometimes.
What’s Next for Kenneth Gainwell?
It appears that Kenneth Gainwell has avoided punishment from the team and the NFL. That means he should be a full participant in Philadelphia’s upcoming clash with the Dallas Cowboys. That’s a massive game that has implications for the entire NFC playoff bracket, let alone the NFC East title race. He may not start, but Gainwell is still important to the Eagles.
Gainwell is third on the Eagles in rushing attempts, rushing yards, and rushing touchdowns. He also has 14 receptions. If starter D’Andre Swift were to go down, Kenneth Gainwell would likely be thrust into the starting spot. Avoiding outside distractions should help him produce moving forward, regardless of his role.
