Media personality and former Denver Broncos great Shannon Sharpe was none too pleased with how Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce approached Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos. Sharpe took to his podcast, Nightcap, with co-host Chad Johnson, to discuss Kelce’s schedule leading up to his team’s 24-9 loss against the Denver Broncos.

Shannon Sharpe Rips Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce
“I’m kinda disappointed because, you know, Friday night, he was at the Rangers game,” said Sharpe about Kelce being in the spotlight ahead of Sunday’s tilt. Kelce took in Game 2 of the World Series in Arlington, Texas, with the Arizona Diamondbacks playing the Texas Rangers.
Sharpe continued, saying, “It was in Texas. He lives in Kansas City.” Kelce traveled to Texas to take in a baseball game despite this Sunday’s game being in Denver.
“It’s an awful look, it’s a terrible look… this in the NFL. You got a game on Sunday.” Sharpe emphasized the importance for NFL players to get off their feet in the final days before game time. However, Kelce took a flight to Texas instead of staying in Kansas City, much to the dismay on Sharpe.
Kansas City Chiefs and TE Travis Kelce: Offense Sputters in Week 8
The Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Denver Broncos for the first time in Patrick Mahomes’ career. Travis Kelce was largely inefficient, catching six passes for 58 yards on nine targets. It was Kelce’s lowest receiving yardage total since making his season debut against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the middle of September. However, the Chiefs won that game, including Kelce scoring a touchdown early in the third quarter.
All eyes will be on Kansas City in Week 9 as they travel to Frankfurt, Germany, to battle the high-octane Maimi Dolphins. Despite Sunday’s struggles, the Chiefs currently sit as short favorites.
