Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is one of the most visible figures in the NFL. Not only is he a part of a dynastic Kansas City Chiefs team, but his off-field activities (that involve superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift) are also causing his name to make rounds online.
While millions of people are mentioning his name, not all of the things said about him are nice. Fans of teams who suffered heavy losses at his hands would have a couple of mean things to say to the 34-year-old. However, some of his biggest haters are attacking him for things that aren’t connected with him off the field.
He has received plenty of criticisms from various NFL fans for his involvement in causes that rub against their personal and political leanings the wrong way.
However, he’s not the only Kelce who’s dropped hints about his political views recently.
Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce and former Philadelphia Eagles Jason Kelce show support for liberal causes
The Kelce brothers had a chance to address a social issue on a recent New Heights episode after Harrison Butker, Travis’ teammate at KC, made controversial statements at a graduation.
Per The Spun’s Andrew Holleran:
Both Jason Kelce and his wife, Kylie Kelce, have spoken out in support of left-leaning issues, especially following the controversy with Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker.
Jason Kelce took a not-so-subtle shot at Butker’s speech in a joke on social media. His wife, meanwhile, was not happy, too.
“My wife she was a little frustrated with some of the comments initially,” Jason Kelce said.
While Travis didn’t make any untoward comments on his teammate, his political activities may betray what he really thinks of the entire thing, as listed down by Holleran:
-
He did a commercial for the vaccine
-
He’s done endorsements for Bud Light
-
He appeared in socially progressive sketches on Saturday Night Live
-
And back in 2017, he was one of the first white players to kneel for the national anthem
It’s also known that Taylor is very vocal about her support to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the most recent presidential elections, so it’s safe to say that the Kansas City Chiefs star will be voting blue when it’s his turn at the polls.
