The Kansas City Chiefs, at 11-1, are heavy favorites to win the Super Bowl this year. If they accomplish that feat, they will become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls (the Green Bay Packers won three straight NFL titles on two separate occasions).
In order for them to do that, though, they need to answer a few questions on their roster. NFL Playoffs football is a great deal more intense than regular season football, and there is less room for error.
One roster concern the Chiefs still have so late in the season is at cornerback. While Trent McDuffie has played brilliantly, Kansas City has failed to find consistent play opposite him ever since Jaylen Watson suffered a broken ankle in Week Seven.
The Kansas City Chiefs Hosted Steven Nelson for a Workout
Yesterday, December 7, NFL insider Ian Rapoport announced on social media that the Chiefs were hosting their former 2015 third-round draft pick, cornerback Steven Nelson, for a workout as their search to replace Watson continues:
Veteran starting CB Steven Nelson is expected to visit the #Chiefs on Monday for a potential reunion and stretch run with a top contender.
This visit, confirmed by his long-time agent Josh Arnold, could land Nelson back with the team he started his career with. pic.twitter.com/neLOTuPjmE

Nelson announced his retirement from the NFL back on June 9.
Former Kansas City Chiefs Cornerback Steven Nelson Had a Solid NFL Career
As mentioned, Nelson was drafted by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He spent four seasons in Kansas City with two of those years being somewhat noteworthy.
In 2016, his second year in the league, he started all 15 of the games in which he played, deflected 16 passes, and recovered two fumbles.
In 2018, his last year with the Chiefs, he started 16 games, defended 15 passes, and notched the first four interceptions of his career.
After leaving Kansas City, Nelson spent two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, one year with the Philadelphia Eagles, and two with the Houston Texans.
Last season, playing with Houston, Nelson started 16 of the 17 games in which played and matched his career-high in interceptions with four.
