The back-to-back Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs are looking to become the first team in the Super Bowl era to pull off a three-peat and are trying to improve their roster on the margins. It is being reported by multiple sources that they are signing former Buffalo Bills punter Matt Araiza to fill the void by free agent Tommy Townsend.
This is a highly controversial move by the Kansas City Chiefs as Araiza was part of a lawsuit that alleged rape. Since being drafted in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL draft by the Bills, he has not taken the field much. However, he has shown his ability to punt the ball well as he was an All-American at San Diego State.
He also was the kicker for the Aztecs as well as he went 50-of-68 (73.5%) on his field goal attempts and made all but one of his extra point tries in college. However, he became the punter for the team in his junior season and had 84 punts for 4,293 yards (51.1 yards per punt). The talent (and unfortunately some baggage) is there but the Kansas City Chiefs just improved their special teams unit.
As of this writing, there has been no report about his contract.
What else do the Kansas City Chiefs need to do this offseason?

The Chiefs could improve within the margins as it’s hard to improve a back-to-back champion and a dynastic team. However, they do have some internal questions to answer with the franchise tag. Defensive tackle Chris Jones, running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, wide receiver Mecole Hardman and left tackle Donovan Smith are all free agents.
The Chiefs have a little less than the league average in terms of available cap space right now with an estimated $16.1 million but that can increase with salary cap manipulation. Expect to see a player take less money to join Patrick Mahomes to chase a ring. There are some new Kansas City Chiefs players to expect this offseason.

Controversial? His name was finally cleared after being proven guilty with no evidence by the media. His career was derailed because the girl that accused him as being involved in it lied about it. There’s nothing controversial about signing someone who was innocent of rape allegations.
Why is it a controversial move he was taken off the complaint because the girl lied another victim of me too but it’s controversial huh you’re such a hack writer
