Attorney West gave a press conference about the incident. “Mr. Rice is going to everything within his power to bring their lives back to as normal as possible regarding injuries and property damage.”
Initial Incident
Initial reports of Rice’s involvement in the accident surfaced early Sunday morning. Later reports could not confirm whether Rice drove the cars, which were registered under Rashee’s name.
Today, his attorney confirmed his involvement in Saturday’s accident.
According to the Dallas Morning News, “A vehicle believed to be registered or leased to Rice was involved in a crash on North Central Expressway at about 6:20 p.m.. Royce West, Rashee Rice’s lawyer, said he would handle his responsibilities regarding the car accident; enforcement officials said that police are looking for Rice, and a police call sheet obtained by The News confirmed that law enforcement officials were searching for him in connection with the accident.”
A video then surfaced from a dash cam showing the accident in question. Rice released a statement shortly after the footage was released.
Will Kansas City Chiefs Punish Rice?
No penalties have been handed out to Rice. The Chiefs will likely wait until the legal process concludes. Due to the accident and evasion of law enforcement, the Chiefs and the NFL could hand out punitive measures.
