The Kansas City Chiefs are by far one of the most popular teams in the NFL. Of course, a great deal of this has to do with the fact that they are the back-to-back Super Bowl Champions. Patrick Mahomes is arguably the best quarterback in the league and has already won three Super Bowls in the past five seasons. Indeed, it is easy to like a winner, and the Chiefs are proven winners.
However, Kansas City saw their popularity explode last season with the revelation that Pro Bowl tight end Travis Kelce is dating 14-time Grammy Award winning popstar Taylor Swift. All of a sudden, the Chiefs (and the NFL in general) and millions of more fans tuning in that were not doing so before. Swift’s presence at games was a constant topic on news stations and podcasts, and the couple became one of the most talked-about duos in the world.
The NFL, obviously, loves the extra attention and revenue they get as a result of Kelce dating Swift, who is one of (if not the most) popular singers on an international stage. Such attention, though, has made it difficult for the pair to keep their personal lives just that: personal.
Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce Talks Relationship with Taylor Swift

Kelce has just returned from London, England where he was visiting Swift who is on the European leg of her Eras Tour. He even appeared on stage with her as part of the performance, drawing rave reviews from her fans.
With Chiefs training camp still a few weeks away, he future Hall of Fame tight end is still working out and getting ready for the upcoming season. However, he also has time to do a few guest appearances on other podcasts.
He was recently on Bussin’ with the Boys and revealed some interesting truths about his relationship with Swift, including the delicate balance between being a high-profile couple and keeping things in their personal lives private:
Travis Kelce on his relationship with Taylor Swift: “You want to keep things private, but at the same time, I’m not here to hide anything. That’s my girl. You know what I mean? That’s my lady. I’m proud of that.”

“No one really knew what was going on, really all over the place,” Kelce said of the beginning of their relationship. “We kind of kept it between us as much as we could.”
He then said that once she came to one of his games that they became a hot topic. One of the hosts complimented him on how they have done a nice job of keeping things private.
Kelce responded, “Yeah, it’s like you want to keep things private, but at the same time I’m not here to like hide anything. That’s my girl, you know what I mean? That’s my lady. And it’s like, you know, I’m proud of that. I’m not here trying to juggle like ‘How can I keep this private?’ You just don’t want to let everybody into your personal life and be able to comment on it knowing that everything she does is making a headline.”
From the outside, it certainly does seem like Kelce has adjusted well to the extra fame that has come from dating Swift. However, that does not mean he has not had to make some significant life changes in order to protect himself and his privacy.
Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce Had to Move

Back in February of this year, Jason Kelce, Travis’ brother, was a guest on NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal’s podcast. During that interview, the Philadelphia Eagles legend revealed that his brother had to completely move out of his own house due to safety reasons after his relationship with Swift became public knowledge:
Per Today:
“It’s crazy what it opens up opportunity wise. It’s crazy to feel how much joy you bring people or how much you affect people’s daily lives,” Jason Kelce said.
But there are “drawbacks” too, he continued. “Travis knows way more than I do,” he said. “He had to completely move out of his house.”
Hopefully, as time has gone on, it has become easier for the couple to keep crazed fans and photographers at bay. However, with both of their respective popularities ever increasing, they will have to continue to battle for their privacy.
Which is a shame.
