Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is one of the biggest names in professional sports right now. Not only is he a future Pro Football Hall of Famer and three-time Super Bowl Champion, but his relationship with 14-time Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift has made him an international celebrity.
Ever since his relationship with Swift became public in September of last year, Kelce has seen his popularity increase. This has not always been a good thing, however. According to his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, the All-Pro tight end had to move out of his house due to crazed fans showing up.
That being said, his newfound fame among people that might not have otherwise been NFL or Chiefs fans has helped his podcast “New Heights,” which he cohosts with Jason, become one of the most listened to and viewed shows online.
Kansas City Chiefs Star Travis Kelce and former Philadelphia Eagles Center Jason Kelce Are Looking for a $100 Million Deal
According to Anne Steele of the Wall Street Journal (via Bleacher Report), Travis and Jason Kelce are seeking a $100 million contract for their “New Heights” podcast. Apparently the two have already spoken to Wonderly, a podcast network owned by Amazon, about a possible deal.
The brothers record their show once a week. “New Heights” is the fourth-highest viewed podcast in the United States right now, and the brothers have 2.42 million subscribers on YouTube.
Per Bleacher Report, Joe Rogan signed a $250 million deal with Spotify and Alex Cooper is close to signing a $100 million with Sirius.
Based on those deals, it is entirely plausible that the Kelce brothers could get the nine-figure salary they are seeking.
Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce Is Also Chasing History in 2024
Kelce is entering his 12th season in the NFL. Currently, he ranks 38th all-time in receiving yards with 11,328. If he is able to put together another season in which he gets close to or surpasses 1,000 receiving yards, he could end up as high as 25th all-time, surpassing Hall of Famers Calvin Johnson, Don Maynard, Michael Irvin, and Charlie Joiner.
The Kansas City tight end also ranks 42nd all-time in touchdown receptions. If he matches his total from last season (five) he would pass Hall of Famers James Lofton, Fred Biletnikoff, Harold Carmichael and Charley Taylor.
Kelce currently ranks fourth all-time among tight ends in receiving yards and fifth in touchdowns.
