The Kansas City Chiefs are not on a Bye Week this weekend, but do not play the New Orleans Saints until their matchup on Monday Night Football. Since they do not play tomorrow, tonight (Saturday) is a night of celebration. Nine-time Pro Bowl tight end Travis Kelce turned 35 years old today and had a massive party that doubled as a fundraiser for his foundation, Eighty-Seven and Running.
The annual event, known as the Kelce Car Jam, saw his brother, Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce, show up with his wife Kylie. Both of their parents, Ed and Donna Kelce, were also on hand.
Not present, however, was the Chiefs tight end’s 14-time Grammy Award winning girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce Reveals What He Really Wants for His Birthday
Speaking to People for an exclusive interview at his birthday party, Kelce revealed his preferred birthday present: “Another Super Bowl, if you’ve got one!”
As mentioned, the Chiefs are trying to win their third consecutive Super Bowl this year. No team in NFL history has ever won the Big Game three times in a row, though the Green Bay Packers won three straight NFL Championships on two separate occasions.
People also reports that, later on stage at his party, Kelce had a more immediate gift request: a win on Monday night against New Orleans. “How about we go get a win on Monday night? How about that? You guys up for that?” Kelce said to the crowd.
Fans in attendance purchased tickets to the party with the funds raised going to his foundation. Eight-Seven and Running is dedicated to helping underserved youth learn life skills and provides them with support and opportunities to better their perspective futures.
Why Was Taylor Swift Not Present for Travis Kelce’s Birthday Party?
As mentioned previously, Swift was not in attendance for Kelce’s 35th birthday party. While no official explanation has been given, it is worth noting that her grandmother shares a birthday with the Chiefs tight end.
It is also possible that Swift did not go to the massive event due to security concerns. This is why she has not traveled to watch Kelce and the Chiefs play in each of their previous two games, both of which were played on the road.
Fans may recall that a portion of Swift’s Eras Tour in Europe had to be cancelled due to a terrorist threat. While her security team and Arrowhead Stadium have mastered the process of getting her in and out of the game safely, other NFL stadiums have not.
It is highly likely that this is why she was not present at the fundraiser, which did not have NFL stadium-levels of security.
The Chiefs play the Saints at home on Monday night, and it will be interesting to see if Swift makes an appearance for the first time since Week Two.
