Fans need to shell out more money these days to watch NFL games in person. Turns out, matches that feature the Kansas City Chiefs are the second-most expensive being offered, just next to tickets for Dallas Cowboys games.
It has been revealed that the Cowboys hold the title for the most expensive tickets in the United States. The average ticket price for Cowboys games stands at an impressive $399.50, which is significantly higher than the average ticket price of $253.47. This means that attending a Cowboys game costs about 57.61% more than the typical live football experience.
When compared to all 152 top-tier sports teams analyzed, the Cowboys’ ticket prices are 202.45% above the overall average of $132.09. Following the Cowboys, the Detroit Lions come in as the third most expensive team, with average ticket prices of $382.88, reflecting a 189.87% increase over the average ticket price across major sports.
The Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles also feature prominently on the list, with average ticket prices of $370.73 and $367.50, respectively. These prices indicate a trend among teams, as they dominate the higher echelons of ticket costs.
Kansas City Chiefs’ Average Ticket Prices for NFL 2024-25 Season Revealed
Those planning to catch Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs on the field may have to pay extra for this season. According to a study by Gaming Today, these tickets have gone up.
In second place, the Kansas City Chiefs’ average ticket price comes in at $391.96. With this, the average cost to see the reigning Super Bowl Champions is 196.74% above the average price of watching top-tier sports, or 54.64% more costly than that of the average NFL team.
Interestingly, the Los Angeles Lakers are the only non-NFL team in the top ten, with an average ticket price of $365.75. This illustrates the strong demand for both NFL and NBA games, although the the former seems to lead in overall ticket pricing.
The trend of rising ticket prices can be attributed to various factors, including the increasing popularity of sports, the demand for live experiences, and the cultural significance of teams like the Cowboys. As ticket prices continue to soar, fans may find it increasingly challenging to afford attending games in person, raising questions about accessibility in the sports world.
