Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has publicly stated his desire to keep his politics to himself, but his wife, Brittany, has been vocal about her support toward Donald Trump with the November election inching closer.
If you’re expecting Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes to speak out ahead of the 2024 presidential election and endorse a particular candidate, you’re going to be waiting for a while.
Mahomes has made it clear where he stands politically – and he’s neutral.
That’s not to say that Mahomes doesn’t have his own opinions – hopefully, he’ll be voting at the polls like everyone else – but he’s not going to make them public. Mahomes has made it clear that he doesn’t believe he should be influencing others in the political arena.
“I don’t want to pressure anyone to vote for a certain president,” the Kansas City Chiefs QB said, per Time magazine.
“I want people to use their voice, whoever they believe in. I want them to do the research.”
His wife, Brittany Mahomes, has taken a much different approach to the upcoming election. Last month, she lit a firestorm after liking a pro-Trump post on social media, and has since spoken up in defense of her post, giving somewhat of an endorsement to the former president.
But Mahomes’ wife is now backtracking, since Trump publicly belittled her good friend, Taylor Swift.
Kansas City Chiefs QB’s Wife Patrick Mahomes Backtracking Support For Donald Trump Over Taylor Swift Comment
Brittany’s good friend — and girlfriend of Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift — made a point to publicly endorse Kamala Harris after the debate last week.
“Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation,” Swift wrote in her endorsement for Harris and Walz. “It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”
Despite all of the headlines off the field, the Kansas City Chiefs have been able to silence the distractions and cruise to a (2-00 start as they attempt to win their third-straight Super Bowl.
Trump recently took to his Truth Social platform, claiming ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT’ – prompting Brittany, 29, to ‘question’ if she will continue to endorse his campaign., according to a report from the DailyMail.
‘She is questioning her support for Donald Trump after he lashed out at Taylor, saying he hates her,’ a source exclusively revealed to DailyMail.com.
Swift’s endorsement of Harris —which drove at least 337,826 users to visit the site vote.gov, is a sign of the potential effect her decision to speak out could have on November’s election.
Vote.gov is run by a federal agency known as the General Services Administration, in partnership with the U.S. Election Assistance Commission. The site includes information about how to register to vote and cast a ballot, and directs users to state sites where they can register.
Swift went on to highlight the policies and values Harris stands for and stated they align with her own vision for the future of the country. She did make a point to urge all US citizens to vote, regardless of who they are voting for.
The wife of the Kansas City Chiefs QB apparently isn’t prepared to switch in support of Harris, but is disturbed by Trump’s attack aimed toward Swift, according to sources close to the Daily Mail.
“This deeply bothered Brittany because Taylor is like a sister to her and she has done absolutely nothing wrong.”
“She didn’t mention Trump in her post and is allowed to speak her mind.”
The source added that Trump’s decision to react in such a hateful manner upset Brittany.
“She does not believe in hate in any form and loves Taylor so much,’ the insider continued. “This shook her to the core.”
They added:,”This doesn’t mean she is suddenly voting Kamala. It has just made her more aware of supporting him so publicly.”
Suddenly the Kansas City Chiefs are front and center in one of the biggest elections in recent U.S. history and it’s the players lovers as the focal point.
