The Kansas City Chiefs understand that building a roster solid enough to win three straight Super Bowls is akin to building the pyramids without any heavy machinery. It’s possible, but it’s hard to achieve without some major effort from everyone in the organization.
While they have already taken steps to ensure that they have a strong squad that can compete with the best of the AFC, the team is still making moves to make their team as strong as possible.
One of the actions they are taking to achieve their goal is trading L’Jarius Sneed away to any interested teams. While the 27-year-old has proven to be a solid contributor for the Chiefs, they cannot keep him due to their limited cap space.
However, it seems like any trade won’t happen unless they get to agree to more reasonable terms.
L’Jarius Sneed’s wage demands are making it tough for the Kansas City Chiefs to trade him
Tom Childs of Arrowhead Pride wrote about the various headlines that Kansas City Chiefs fans should take note of. Among these topics was the contract issue the team is facing with Sneed:
An issue for both has been Sneed’s contract demands, as the 27-year-old reportedly has a price that is “too high.” He is currently set to stay in Kansas City on the franchise tag.
The Titans and Colts could both use a defensive upgrade, as each team finished towards the middle of the league in passing yards allowed in 2023. This, combined with talented quarterbacks like Trevor Lawrence and C.J. Stroud playing in the division, means that grabbing a player like Sneed could be worthwhile.
It won’t be hard to find a team who would be interested in Sneed as he’s a talented defender. Last season, he notched 68 solo tackles, one fumble recovery, and two interceptions that went for four yards to go with 14 pass deflections.
The likelihood of a trade will increase as the contract feud continues, but the Chiefs will do everything in their power to keep Sneed in the team.
