Heading into the 2024 NFL season, the Kansas City Chiefs were heavily favored to win the Super Bowl again. At 11-1, they are setting themselves up for prime position in the NFL Playoffs to do just that. If they can do it, they will become the first team in NFL history to win the Super Bowl three times in a row.
The Green Bay Packers won the NFL Championship three times in a row from 1929-1931 and three straight titles that included Super Bowls I and II from 1965-1967.
Kansas City, of course, has already won three Super Bowls within the last five years. Along the way, they have ended the Championship dreams of many other NFL Players, one of whom blames them, and especially quarterback Patrick Mahomes, for sending him into retirement.
Former NFL Wide Receiver Emmanuel Sanders Blames Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs for His Retirement
Speaking on FS1’s “The Facility,” former Denver Broncos and Buffalo Bills wide receiver Emmanuel Wilson blamed Mahomes and the Chiefs for making him cry on multiple occasions and sending him into retirement:

“I retired after that game. He’s the reason I’m up here right now.” 😅😂 pic.twitter.com/GwJgnDDzqy

“I still remember, after we scored, my family was going crazy,” Sanders said of a NFL Playoffs game the Bills played against Mahomes and the Chiefs . “I told them to calm down because I’ve been in the division with Pat, you’ve got to play him for four quarters. In my heart, I knew…13 seconds…he a bad boy.
“I retired after that game. You know how many times Patrick Mahomes made me cry though? I was in the AFC West, it happened with the 49ers in the Super Bowl — I’m a grown man and he’s making me cry. … I retired, dog. I’m up here right now because of him.”
Sanders was also on the 2019 San Francisco 49ers team that lost to Mahomes and the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
Of course, Sanders saw plenty of Kansas City during his five-and-a-half seasons with the Broncos.
