The Kansas City Chiefs are getting ready to face the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII. Today, the Chiefs received some good news. It appears they are about to get a key running back available to practice before the Super Bowl.
Kansas City Chiefs Activate Jerick McKinnon
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Kansas City Chiefs plan to activate RB Jerick McKinnon from the Injured Reserve list. As a result, McKinnon’s practice window will be open. McKinnon was dealing with a groin injury since Week 15. Rapoport speculates that this could make McKinnon available for the Super Bowl.
Jerick McKinnon’s Stats
McKinnon has played 12 games for the Chiefs this season. However, he did not have a notable 2023 season compared to years past. McKinnon had just 60 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. However, he can still take some of the weight off of Isiah Pacheco’s shoulders. Pacheco had 24 rushing attempts in two of the first three playoff games for Kansas City.
Kansas City Chiefs Moving Forward
The Kansas City Chiefs look to win their third Super Bowl in five seasons next week against the San Francisco 49ers. Right now, the 49ers are two-point favorites. We will have to see if there is any line movement before kickoff.
