Justin Fields has been linked heavily with the Atlanta Falcons in recent days, and by the looks of it, he would welcome a trade to his home state. However, he does see one problem when it happens.
Considering that he’s from Georgia–particularly Kennesaw–he sees his phone blowing up because of family and friends hitting him up.
Justin Fields to Atlanta Falcons?
The Fields-to-Falcons buzz started after the Chicago Bears quarterback unfollowed the team on Instagram and followed some Atlanta players like Kyle Pitts, Drake London and Bijan Robinson.
Fields argued that he unfollowed the Bears because he doesn’t want any football in his social media feed, but the problem is he still followed his fellow football players from another team who, most likely, would also post about football throughout the offseason.
Anyway, when asked about potentially joining the Falcons in light of recent events, Fields is open to the idea. He knows there’s one hilarious “con” to it, though.
“Atlanta would be tough, the only con of going back home is just people hitting my phone crazy you know wanting tickets to the game, but I think they have a lot of playmakers on the team. Of course Bijan (Robinson), they’ve got my boy Kyle (Pitts) and of course Drake (London) too. They probably need one more receiver but they definitely got some guys over there,” Fields said during his interview with The 33rd Team.
It will definitely be interesting to see Fields play for the Falcons. Atlanta could really use a quarterback, and with Fields’ dual-threat ability, he could thrive in the system. Not to mention that there are a number of weapons with the team that can make his life easier.
For now, though, it’s unknown where Fields will actually end up with.
Atlanta Falcons’ Odds To Land Justin Fields Skyrocket
For what it’s worth, the odds of the Atlanta Falcons trading for Justin Fields from the Chicago Bears skyrocketed following the QB’s social media move.
The Falcons now have the second-best odds to land him at +150, only behind the QB-needy Pittsburgh Steelers at -120.
Considering Fields’ connection with the Falcons and the city of Atlanta, however, it’s not hard to see him wanting to go to the team. Although that is still up to the Bears, who would look for the best return in any trade for him.
