The Philadelphia Eagles were able to convince one of their key defenders to return for the 2024 season after being placed on the trade market. It’s been a big week for players on the Eagles defensive line.
The Philadelphia Eagles DL had a big news week

Star defensive tackle Fletcher Cox announced his intention to retire this offseason. Brandon Graham chose to return for at least one more season. But the biggest questions for the Eagles were with Haason Reddick and Josh Sweat.
The Eagles placed both players on the trade market before free agency started. The Eagles were able to come to a conclusion with Sweat.
Josh Sweat will stay with the Eagles

Per Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, the Eagles convinced Sweat to stay this season after they restructured his contract. The move is a surprise, as it was believed Sweat could sign for more money on a new contract with whatever team the Eagles traded him to.
#Eagles pass-rusher Josh Sweat is staying in Philly, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. He’s agreed to terms on a restructured contract, despite interest elsewhere for what likely would have been a pay increase. Philly keeps a good one home. pic.twitter.com/xTp8etWjel

The Eagles have to decide on Haason Reddick’s fate now

The Eagles will retain an important part of their pass rush next season, as Sweat has recorded 35 sacks in his six-year NFL career. He has 17.5 sacks in the previous two years. Now, the Eagles must come up with a plan for what to do with Reddick.
