The New Orleans Saints signed a quarterback to their 53-man roster Wednesday as Derek Carr battles an injury he sustained against the Green Bay Packers in Week 3. The Packers won the game after Carr left. The Saints were up 17-0 before his injury.
The Saints revealed this week that Carr is week-to-week with an AC joint injury. The team appears ready to build up some depth at the position while he’s recovering.

According to Aaron Wilson with KPRC, the Saints poached Jake Luton off the Carolina Panthers practice squad.

The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted Luton inthe sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Luton spent time with the Saints on the practice squad and the 53-man roster during the 2022 season. The Panthers signed Luton the practice squad in August.
Luton has thrown for 624 yards with two touchdown to six interceptions in his NFL career.
