The Buffalo Bills have been disappointing this season but quarterback Josh Allen has been playing pretty well. He is a gunslinger who will make some incredible plays but also turn the ball over at a higher rate. However, he has done something that no other NFL player in history has done: record 40 total touchdowns in four consecutive seasons.

Josh Allen has been playing better as of late and has put up incredible seasons. So far this year, he is 340-of-511 (66.5 completion percentage) for 3,778 yards with 27 passing touchdowns to 15 interceptions. What makes Josh Allen so valuable is the fact he can also be a team’s leading rusher. He has slowed down a bit this season but has recorded 85 rushing attempts for 413 yards (4.9 yards per carry) with 13 rushing touchdowns.
It’s incredible to think that this is the first time in NFL history this has happened but whether it be due to schemes, injuries, or just play style, Josh Allen has done something no other player has done.
Can Josh Allen win the 2023-24 NFL MVP?
As things currently stand, Josh Allen is currently fifth in the NFL MVP odds for the season at +1400. Below is the top 10 odds for the award via DraftKings Sportsbook
NFL MVP Odds
- Brock Purdy (-250)
- Lamar Jackson (+425)
- Christian McCaffrey (+800)
- Dak Prescott (+900)
- Josh Allen (+1400)
- Tyreek Hill (+2500)
- Jalen Hurts (+2500)
- Patrick Mahomes (+2500)
- Tua Tagovailoa (+2800)
- Jared Goff (+10000)
The odds would show that Allen would be a good dark horse candidate to win the award. It is safe to say the award has become more of a narrative-driven award than only the best player in the entire league. The Buffalo Bills have gotten to 9-6 on the year now and if they can win the next two games, they will win the AFC East.
After a terrible start to the season, the turnaround really will help the narrative aspect. With games against the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins, two defenses that are not going to dominate. He’s also doing this without wide receiver Stefon Diggs stepping up after nine consecutive games without 100 yards.
With history on his side and never winning an NFL MVP throughout his career, do not be surprised if the national conversation shifts to Allen being in the race.
