The Kansas City Chiefs are expected to be without one of their best offensive players when they play the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game this Sunday. The Chiefs had a few concerning updates before Wednesday’s practice.
The Kansas City Chiefs have concerning injuries this week
Wide receiver Skyy Moore, who suffered a setback during practice last week, will not practice Wednesday. Neither will running back Isiah Pacheco due to a toe injury he suffered against the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round. It’s unclear if Moore or Pacheco will play the Ravens.
Joe Thuney gets a troubling update on Wednesday
The picture for Joe Thuney’s availability against the Ravens is even bleaker after an update from ESPN‘s Adam Schefter on Wednesday. Thuney suffered a pec strain against the Bills. Per Schefter, the Chiefs do not believe Thuney will play against the Ravens this weekend. But Thuney will attempt to play:
Chiefs’ Pro-Bowl guard Joe Thuney will not practice today due to his pec injury and, in the words of one source, is unlikely to play Sunday vs. the Ravens. But as another source also said, “he’s going to work like crazy to play.”
The Baltimore Ravens front seven is threatening
Losing Thuney, a three-time All-Pro, would be a significant blow to an offensive line tasked with facing one of the defensive fronts in the league. Per Pro Football Focus, the Ravens have the sixth-best pass rush in the league this season. They led the NFL in sacks in the regular season with 60 sacks.
