According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, the Bengals officially placed Burrow on injured reserve for his wrist injury. They placed running back Chase Brown back on the 53-man roster. The Bengals also elevated quarterback A.J. McCarron to the active roster for their matchup against the Steelers.

McCarron, like Burrow, has experience winning a championship at the college level. McCarron won the 2012 and 2013 National Championships with Alabama.
McCarron will be Jake Browning’s backup against the Steelers. He’ll help provide valuable backup experience for a Bengals team still in the playoff hunt but without its best player.
