Jerry Jones ‘all-in’ narrative was recently contradicted by his own son, Stephen Jones in an interview with Sports Illustrated last Friday. Stephen Jones, who is currently the executive vice-president and the CEO of the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL, remarked how every team in the league is ‘all in’ to win, but doesn’t necessarily mean they will be making huge uncalculated moves.
This is, in fact, exactly what Dallas fans expected from the franchise after the team owner, Jerry Jones, said that the team was ‘all in’ to win. Both fans and analysts predicted the team to take drastic measures to strengthen their roster in the offseason. However, the reality was far from their imagination and the Cowboys have been making slow but calculated steps to bring more depth to their locker room.
“I don’t buy into all that. Name one person that isn’t all in. I’d hate the fans to hear their owner say that people aren’t all in, when you’re competing in the NFL … I mean, it’s kind of a joke. Every year we line up, we’re moving our chips in.” Stephen Jones said in his interview with Sports Illustrated on Friday.
Jerry Jones’ Dallas Cowboys finished third in the NFC East in the previous NFL season, winning seven games and losing ten. The team played their very last game of the tournament against the Washington Commanders, losing with a final score of 23-19.

Jerry Jones Has Not Been Still This Offseason
Jerry Jones’ Dallas Cowboys have definitely not been quiet in this NFL offseason, making a number of changes to their coaching staff. They also promoted Brian Schottenheimer to head coach from offensive coordinator, a move which was condemned by many. Quite recently, Dallas also brought in George Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers. This move was also heavily criticized heavily by both fans and analysts, especially with Pickens’ controversial past.

They also brought in Conor Riley as the new OL Coach, joining Kalyton Adams as the Offensive Coordinator for the team. While Stephen Jones continues to be the director of player personnel with the team, Will McClay recently signed a contract extension with the team as the vice president of player personnel.

In terms of free agents, the Cowboys signed running backs Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders. They also traded for linebacker Kenneth Murray and Kaair Elam, who is a cornerback this offseason. Joe Milton III was traded for by the Dallas Cowboys to bring more quarterback power to the team’s roster.
