The Cleveland Browns suffered a major setback during their 27-0 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 9. Quarterback Deshaun Watson looked impressive in his first complete game performed since playing the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 24.

However, Watson’s protection up front is set to see a shake-up after a significant injury to offensive lineman Jedrick Wills Jr. According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, head coach Kevin Stefanski said the Browns starting left tackle suffered an MCL sprain and will head to the injured reserve. The Browns expect Wills to rejoin the team this season.

Per Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, Wills is expected to miss approximately six weeks due to the high-grade MCL sprain, low-grade PCL sprain, and bone bruises.

An MCL sprain usually takes anywhere from 3 to 12 weeks to recover from.

Wills, a former first-round pick by the Browns, is essential to the team’s offensive line. According to Our Lads, the Browns will likely look to Wills’ backup, 2021 fourth-round pick James Hudson, to take over the left tackle spot.
Wills is currently having his worst season, per Pro Football Focus. He’s graded 54.0 overall for his play this season.
