Ja’Marr Chase is ready to turn up the heat on the rivalry between the Bengals and the Chiefs. Earlier this week, things seemed to be cordial after Joe Burrow said that Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback in the league right now. Chase apparently doesn’t agree and is ready to continue the bitter rivalry after he threw some major shade at Mahomes.

Ja’Marr Chase Throws Shade At Patrick Mahomes
Chase had a simple statement when asked if Mahomes was the best quarterback in the league. The star receiver responded with “Pat who?”. This is the exact opposite of the response that Burrow had about the question. Chase made it clear that he has a different opinion. He didn’t divulge any other details which makes me think this is simply a ploy to increase the bad blood in the rivalry. The teams meet in the regular season and then could meet again in the playoffs for the third year in a row.

The Bengals Have Had Success
The Bengals are one team that has had success against the Chiefs. While last year they ultimately fell to the champs, they have had their number in the previous seasons. After a heartbreaking loss last year, the team is hoping to make it back to the Super Bowl and usurp the reigning champions. For the Chiefs, this is simply more motivation to prove that they can do it again. People keep doubting them for one reason or another but the Chiefs continue to prevail.
It will be interesting to see if any of the Chiefs players respond to the Ja’Marr Chase comments made about Patrick Mahomes. It has been a while since we’ve had a really fun rivalry in the NFL and I for one am here for all the trash talk.
