The Seattle Seahawks are set to release several big names on their roster ahead of the start of free agency for the 2024 season. The Seahawks are resetting the roster as they transition from the Pete Carroll era to the Mike Macdonald era.
The Seattle Seahawks released a veteran tight end
The Seahawks released tight end Will Dissly and safety Quandre Diggs. Losing Diggs, a three-time Pro Bowl player would be a significant loss in its own right. However, the Seahawks are set to lose another star safety.
The Seahawks released Jamal Adams
Per Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, the Seahawks are releasing thee-time All-Pro safety Jamal Adams on top of Diggs. By cutting Diggs and Adams, the Seahawks will save $27.5 million.

The Seahawks need to add to the secondary this offseason
The Seahawks will have a new-look defense in Macdonald’s first season with the team. After losing two star safeties, they’ll have a big hole to fill in the secondary. We’ll see if they look to add to the position in the draft or in free agency.
