A rising college football star was recently compared to former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Kaepernick had a successful tenure as the quarterback of the 49ers during the years Jim Harbaugh was the team’s coach.
Kaepernick never made it to a Pro Bowl, but he did lead the 49ers to a Super Bowl appearance the team nearly won. He was booted from the league following his controversial decision to take a knee during the national anthem.

But there’s no denying Kaepernick was a gifted quarterback. According TO Jordan Schultz with Bleacher Report, an NFL scout thinks Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe is reminiscent of Kaepernick:
“Kid just keeps getting better and better. Honestly he kinda reminds me of (Colin) Kaepernick a little bit. Big, athletic, fast, big arm, and big plays.”
#Alabama RS sophomore QB Jalen Milroe is a budding star. 10 TDs and 1 INT his last two games. Efficiency is off the chart + lethal on 3rd down. Just an awesome progression!

Kaepernick was listed as a six-foot-four, 230-pound quarterback. Milroe is six-foot-two, 220 pounds. Milroe can add extra weight when he goes to the NFL, but he’ll never reach the same height as Kaepernick.
But the comparison to Kaepernick, at least on the field, is a good sign for the Alabama quarterback. Having athleticism to be fast with a deadly arm is a trait NFL teams will be looking for.
It’ll be interesting to see how Milroe can progress during his college career. He had a slow start in his first three games this season, including Alabama’s loss to Texas, where he threw two costly interceptions. But Milroe has suddenly found his groove in the late fall and could get Alabama to the playoffs if they can beat Georgia in the SEC Championship Game.
