The Detroit Lions have a concerning situation to monitor on Jahmyr Gibbs ahead of the 2024 regular season. The Lions have a lot invested in Gibbs after they pulled a surprise in the 2023 NFL Draft by selecting the Alabama standout with the No. 12 pick.
Jahmyr Gibbs had an incredible rookie season

Gibbs rewarded the Lions for putting their faith in him by rushing for 945 yards and ten touchdowns last season. He also added 316 receiving yards and one touchdown reception. Gibbs missed two games last season due to a hamstring injury. Following his short absence, Gibbs didn’t miss another regular season game and made a major impact in all three postseason games.
Detroit Lions: Gibbs suffered a soft-tissue injury

Lions head coach Dan Campbell made a frustrating announcement about Gibbs’ health during OTAs. He said Gibbs is not practicing at mandatory minicamp due to a soft-tissue injury, which is separate from the hamstring injury Gibbs suffered last season.
Fortunately for the Lions and Gibbs, the injury came in the offseason. Gibbs can rest up and keep the injury from turning into a much worse issue. However, the Lions have to be concerned about Gibbs having another soft-tissue injury. This could be an injury that they will have to monitor during Gibbs’ career with the team.
NFL fans’ initial reaction to the injury
Let’s not go down the Christian Watson road.
Stay away from all the passive, nonsense treatment and terrible evaluations.
Soft tissue fails for basically 2 reasons.

This can either be a muscular, tendon, or ligament injury. These are common injuries at this point in OTAs. Hopefully, it’s mild (Grade I) in nature. 1-2 weeks is a general recovery timeline for these injuries. #OnePride #NFL
