The New England Patriots appear interested in adding to their running back room before their Week 3 game against the New York Jets. The Patriots were interested in high-profile skilled players, including Dalvin Cook, but he fell to the Jets this offseason.

Ezekiel Elliott made it clear where he wants to play next year. Maybe the Buffalo Bills?

The Patriots signed Ezekiel Elliott this offseason. He’s off to a slow start for the 0-2 Patriots with just 42 yards on 12 carries. Rhamondre Stevenson has 75 yards on 27 carries. The Patriots have only 164 rushing yards in their first two games.

The Patriots need many things right now, including help running the ball. According to Aaron Wilson with KPRC, the Patriots worked out Jacob Saylors on Tuesday. The Cincinnati Bengals initially signed Saylors as a UDFA after April’s draft.

According to Chris Roling with the Bengals Wire, Saylors was a standout at East Tennessee State:

Saylors, 5’11” and 195 pounds, ran for 1,314 yards and 15 touchdowns last year on a 5.8 average over 226 attempts. On just 143 totes in 2021, he ran for 1,019 and 10 scores on a 7.1 average. He’s caught at least 19 passes in each of the last two seasons, too.

Saylors had nine carries for 27 yards in the preseason for the Bengals.

Saylors has not been signed as of this publishing.
