The Jacksonville Jaguars have been having a topsy-turvy week with consistent news surrounding the injury to their star quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, suffered on Monday night during the Jags’ 34-31 loss to the Joe Burrow-less Cincinnati Bengals.
The Jaguars have been coy all week regarding Trevor Lawrence’s injury situation – especially considering he was already questionable going into the Monday night matchup. Doug Pedersen has emphasized for most of this week that Lawrence’s playing status will in fact be a game time decision, and now it seems like there is further clarity on the situation, per Adam Schefter.
Jaguars are planning for Trevor Lawrence to start Sunday vs. the Browns, but need to work out the franchise quarterback in pregame warmups before making a final decision, per sources. Lawrence will be six days removed from a high ankle sprain — an injury that typically sidelines…

What Does This Mean For The Jacksonville Jaguars Offense On Sunday?
In short – a lot. Despite losing to a rejuvenated Bengals side on Monday, the Jacksonville Jaguars are still at the summit of the surprisingly strong AFC South with an 8-4 record, one ahead of the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans, who are both 1 game behind at 7-5.

Without Trevor Lawrence, the team would have to rely upon former third round pick and current Jacksonville backup, CJ Beathard, who was dealing with some injury issues this week.

Yet, it seems like Lawrence is on track to play – which is particularly impressive given that, as Schefter notes, this injury normally sidelines players for far longer than a meagre 6 days. Lawrence himself seems to be grateful that his injury was not more severe, given what his injury could have been,
Whilst Lawrence has been far from perfect, this is a completely different team without him, and being back in a big game against the Deshaun Watson-less Cleveland Browns will be a boon to their AFC South championship retention hopes, after retaking the division in 2022 for the first time in 5 years.
Hopefully Lawrence is safe with his return, as the last thing the Jags want is for him to suffer a worse injury that would sideline him in the midst of a potentially deep-ish playoff run. Should be an interesting game on Sunday – the Browns are 2.5 point favorites at home.
