The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have officially been eliminated from the playoffs but they may have lost wide receiver Mike Evans as he is now technically a free agent. The future Hall of Fame wide receiver wanted a contract extension done before the season and the franchise tag seems like something that would not make sense.
If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were to franchise tag Mike Evans, it would cost them more than $28 million next season. There is a chance we just saw the last of Evans in a Bucs uniform.
What is Mike Evans’ best moments as a Buccaneer?
If the NFC Divisional Round loss to the Detroit Lions is the final time we see him with Tampa, there are going to be a bunch of moments that jump to mind. One of the more memorable is just his consistency as he has 1,000+ receiving yards in each of his first 10 seasons.
As a result, he holds a lot of the franchise records, including posting the most scrimmage yards in Buccaneers’ playoff history. However, the big moment is going to be winning the Super Bowl in the 2020 season.
It will be interesting to see what he does and if he is wearing a new uniform come September.
