Honestly Syracuse fans the real answer is nah, not really. They are good enough to beat teams that are average. Syracuse is a team that will win every game they should vs. mediocre teams. When Cuse’ plays a better then average team they get smoked.
Yes it’s a great start winning vs. overrated Louisville and a last drive to Purdue, who was also overrated. In the game tonight they were in control vs. Virginia for the whole first half. The Cavaliers are not a good football team and somehow fought back vs. the Orange. If Cuse’ was an actual good team this game is a 20 point blowout. Instead it came down to the last possession.
Good news for Syracuse fans, you are guaranteed to start the year 5-0 with your next game being home vs. Wagner. Live in the moment Syracuse fans, because later on this season it is not completely impossible to not win another game and that is not hyperbole. They play Notre Dame, NC State and Florida State at home. Their road games remaining are Clemson, Wake Forrest, Pittsburgh. The one they might get Boston College.
I think this is a real concern that Orange fans should have. Going into Boston college last game of the year, battling for a bowl game after starting the year 5-0. I do like Shrader and Tucker and Gadsden but after those guys on offense, that is kind of it. If UVA can shut those guys out in a half what can these much better teams do? But to all my Syracuse fans, live in the moment.
