On Tuesday, the United States legal system cleared Indianapolis Colts tight end Drew Ogletree of all domestic violence charges stemming from an arrest last December. The prosecution has thrown out its case against Ogletree due to a lack of credible and usable evidence. He missed the final two games of the 2023 season while on the NFL’s Commissioner Exempt list. According to Colts and NFL reporter Stephen Holder, the prosecution’s motion to dismiss the charges came from “subsequent interviews with all parties involved revealed information and evidence not provided to law enforcement on the night of the alleged incident. The evidence is insufficient to prosecute this case.”

Ogletree found himself arrested in Hendricks Country late last December for alleged domestic violence. Ogletree faced two felonies as a result: domestic violence committed in the presence of a child (less than 16 years old) and domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury. The victim of the alleged domestic violence required a trip to the hospital. However, all domestic violence charges were dropped less than three months later.
Ogletree: Entering Third NFL Season

The Colts selected Drew Ogletree with the 192nd pick in the 2022 NFL draft. He started his college career at DII Findlay before transferring to Youngstown State (FCS). After suffering a torn ACL in training camp, the six-foot-five tight end did not play as a rookie. However, he appeared in 12 games last season. He caught nine passes for 147 yards and two touchdowns while playing special teams. Ogletree recorded six tackles. His best game came against the Los Angeles Rams in early October, catching three passes for 48 yards and a score.
