The Indianapolis Colts go into training camp as a team on the rise. While they still might be a couple of years away, they have some nice pieces. One veteran they are hoping can help lead the team is defensive tackle DeForest Buckner. Unfortunately, he is dealing with a foot injury in training camp.
Indianapolis Colts DeForest Buckner Dealing With Foot Injury
Not all injuries are the same. For example, rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson had a procedure on his nose that needed healing. He was out for a couple of days and is back at practice. Buckner is dealing with an injury that can be a cause for concern. Foot injuries often linger and can turn into real issues. There is no word on how severe the injury is and in training camp, you never know. Teams can hold players out for precautionary reasons, especially veterans.
Expectations For 2023
The Colts’ season hinges on Anthony Richardson. If he can show some promise and play better than people think, the Colts could surprise some people in the AFC. The Jonathan Talyor situation is a dark cloud over training camp but it will likely get resolved at some point. Things like this tend to blow over as both sides realize the need for each other. If the team can get Taylor back and the defense can overperform the Colts could sneak up on some teams.
The Indianapolis Colts will hope that DeForest Buckner can come back soon. Injuries are never the news that fans want to hear coming out of training camp. It can severely hinder a season if key players get injuries before games have even started. As with any injury, this is one to monitor if you are a Colts fan.
