The Indiana Hoosiers have been one of the biggest stories in college football this season under first-year head coach Curt Cignetti. Indiana was 5-0 entering the game against the Northwestern Wildcats and the Hoosiers won the game over the Wildcats 41-24.
The Hoosiers improved to 6-0 on the season and they are bowl eligible already this season. Quarterback Kurtis Rourke completed 25-of-33 passes for 380 yards and three touchdowns in the game. He has been sensational for Indiana all season long.
Indiana Hoosiers Quarterback Kurtis Rourke Named Co-Offensive Player Of the Week In the BIG10 Conference
Rourke was named co-offensive player of the week in the BIG10 Conference along with Ohio State Buckeyes WR Emeka Egbuka. This was the fourth time this season that Kurtis Rourke had a game with multiple touchdown passes and zero interceptions. He has been sensational for them so far this season and will need to continue this pace if they want to be in the college football playoff.
Indiana also won at Northwestern for the first time since the 1993 season. Rourke won this award earlier in the season on September 16. He also became the first Indiana Hoosiers quarterback to throw three or more touchdown passes in at least three BIG10 Conference games since 1967. It has been a long time since this program has been relevant.
Bye Week This Week
The Indiana Hoosiers and Kurtis Rourke will be on a bye this week. They will have a huge game off the bye week on homecoming weekend against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Nebraska is a very talented team and they could wreck their homecoming.
The story with the Cornhuskers this season is head coach Matt Rhule and quarterback Dylan Raiola. Nebraska may not make the college football playoffs this season, but this is the first major test for the Indiana Hoosiers coming off the bye week.
