Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell has encouraging updates on his recovery progress heading into the 2024 season.
Tank Dell got hurt in the 11th game of the season against the Denver Broncos while blocking during a red zone run. He got caught up awkwardly in a pile. The diagnosis was a broken fibula, and his season ended.
Today, KPRC reported that Dell’s progress is encouraging. “The Texans’ dynamic wide receiver resumed offseason workouts with his private coach, Delfonte Diamond, and he looked impressive with sharp cuts in drills that included plyometrics and stability work.”
“To be honest with you, he hasn’t lost a beat,” Diamond told KPRC 2. “He looks ten times faster. Yes sir, he’s a special breed. He’s moving like he’s always been doing. He ran full speed.”
Dell previously told KPRC he would be ready for organized team activities in the spring.
“He’ll be more than ready when OTAs jump off,” Diamond said. He’s way ahead of schedule. I can’t wait to see No. 3 put that helmet back on. That first year was the teaser. He’s fixing to up the price.”

Houston Texans Dynamic Receiver
Tank Dell was impressive in his rookie season before his injury. He and CJ Stroud were phenomenal in their debut season of the NFL.
Tank had 47 receptions for 709 yards. He averaged 15.1 yards per catch. He became a reliable target for offensive rookie of the year CJ Stroud.
No doubt Houston fans are looking forward to both of these two on the field for 2024.
Speed of Tank Dell
His trainer talked about Tank’s speed during his first workouts back. Diamond stated that Tank looks “10 times faster.”
That would be one of the most incredible feats known to man. Ten times faster is very fast for a guy who ran a 4.49-second 40-yard dash at the combine.
In Week 3, Tank Dell clocked his fastest speed of the season, 20.82 mph.
If he is truly 10x faster and hits that speed in a game, 208.2 mph would be an NFL record. For comparison, a Lamborghini Diablo tops out at 202 mph.
Modern medicine is astonishing. https://t.co/wK5EH0GkFI

Hopefully, Tank will get back to full speed soon. The Texans are counting on him to help CJ Stroud grow.
