The Houston Texans are on the rise. After missing out on the postseason for three straight years, the Texans made some noise last season, progressing all the way to the Divisional Round for the first time since 2019.
Houston is now looking to build on that success with an even bigger year in 2024. For his part, All-Pro cornerback Desmond King is all in on the hype.
Houston Texans News: Desmond King Looking Forward to Big Year

King reunited with the Texans in the middle of last season after he parted ways with the Pittsburgh Steelers. After helping Houston advance to the divisional round in 2023, King signed an extension with the team in March.
The 29-year-old has now sounded off on what he believes his team is capable of this year:
“I’m going on my fourth year in Houston. I’ve done seen the evolution of the team and the organization just being here for those first couple of years and seeing where it’s at now, knowing my capability and what I can bring to the team, why not be here with Houston? We’re an up-and-coming team and we’re here to stay. We’re just getting ready for the season and I’m here,” King said, via Aaron Wilson of Click2Houston.com

‘Blood, Sweat and Tears’

King knows what he brings to the table for the Texans, and he’s liked what he’s seen from his teammates in the offseason thus far. As such, he expects big things ahead in 2024:
“Just honestly, it’s all about staying focused on the goal,” King said. “We know what kind of team we have. That said, you see it every day in the locker room. It’s what we do when we go out there on that field. Yeah, we have the noise. We have the hype behind us, but that’s not out there on that practice field when we’re out there working.
“That’s what it’s about. We’re out there putting blood, sweat and tears in every day. We know what we have and we’ve got to believe in what we have, and that’s what really matters.”
The rest of the league better be ready.
