The Houston Texans have officially won the NFL’s 2024 off season. They have picked up the most talent by far and have not lost any of their crucial players in the free agency period. They did not just win the 2024 off season, but they have hauled in a few notable elite players, which statistically makes this off season perhaps the best ever for the Texans.
Houston Texans Make History With Free Agency Haul
For the first time in the history of the NFL, a team has brought in three elite players in one off season. Specifically, the Houston Texans brought in a player with over 100 catches, a player with over 1000 rush yards, and a player with over 10 sacks in their previous seasons. They brought them all in in just one offseason.
The team brought in perhaps the most elite pass rusher in free agency with Danielle Hunter, which just adds to their already ferocious pass rush. Hunter had over 10 sacks in the previous season with the Minnesota Vikings, and will now add to an already very scary defensive line.
The team brought in Joe Mixon as well who had over 1000 yards rushing in his previous season with the Cincinnati Bengals and he will replace Devin Singaltery as the lead back in Houston behind C.J. Stroud.

Finally the team made perhaps the biggest move of the offseason by acquiring Stefon Diggs in a blockbuster trade from the Buffalo Bills. Diggs had over 100 catches in the previous season.
This is the first time that a team has brought in three players that have been this successful in their previous season with their former teams.
Houston Texans Are legitimate Super Bowl Contenders Now
The Houston Texans saw their Super Bowl odds jump drastically during the offseason after trading for Diggs:
“The Houston Texans only had to give up two late round selections for Diggs and their Super Bowl odds went from +2,000 all they way up to +1,500, per Fanduel. Jumping that much for one trade shows how good Vegas thinks the Texans will be this year adding one of the best receivers in the league.”
This Houston team is taking advantage of Stroud being on a rookie deal and their rebuild has been all of two seasons!
What is clear in the NFL is that once you get the quarterback and the head coach right, everything else falls into place beautifully. While Stroud will just be going into his second year, the sky is the limit for how good they can be in the next few years of his rookie contract.
While they are not the favorites to take it home this year, if they can get over the Kansas City Chiefs, there is not many other teams that will be able to stop them in the post season. The team over performed in many peoples eyes last year, but now no one will overlook them for this season.
