The Houston Texans had a great season in 2023 under new quarterback C.J. Stroud, making the postseason and winning the AFC South. They will look to make another jump in 2024 with more key additions such as wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the already deep wide receiver room. However, the team suffered an injury to a second-year defender in their preseason matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, and it has now been ruled that he will miss the entirety of the 2024 season.

According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, the Texans’ second-year safety Brandon Hill will miss the entirety of the 2024 NFL season due to a significant right knee injury. Hill was carted off the field during the team’s matchup against the Rams and the extent of his injury is yet to be determined.

The second-year safety was a seventh-round pick out of Pittsburgh by Houston in the 2023 NFL Draft, and was waived and brought back to the practice squad. He later signed a futures deal with the team in January this year, and looked like he would begin to rise as a safety in the NFL.

The safety appeared in two games in 2023, but he did not record any statistics, which is what lead to his release last year. In this preseason, Hill amounted to eight total tackles with a fumble return, and an interception. Many fans and NFL analysts sent out their prayers for the young safety after suffering the heart breaking injury.

Do you think the Texans will keep Hill on the roster after this injury, or will another team take a chance on him for next season?
