Few franchises have helped themselves more over the past six days than the New York Jets.

As if trading for All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams in hopes of sparking an inconsistent passing game wasn’t a bold enough move for general manager Joe Douglas and the Jets, New York reached an agreement Sunday with All-Pro pass rusher Haason Reddick to end his holdout that has been ongoing since he was acquired in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles back n March.

Reddick plans to return to the team this week, as the two sides work towards a long-term contract extension. Sunday’s dramatic reversal comes less than a week after Reddick hired Drew Rosenhaus as his agent, shortly after being fired as a client by his former agency.

Two impact players into the fold at premium positions, one on offense, on on defense, which have the potential to alter the trajectory of the Jets’ season and perhaps propel New York into contenders in the AFC East.

Immediately after reports emerged Sunday morning that the Jets and Reddick had struck a deal, fans took to social media to sound off on the move.

New York Jets and NFL Fans Weigh in On Haason Reddick Deal

Here’s a sampling of the reaction that came pouring in from fans on Reddick deciding to report to the Jets.

He should have hired Drew in the 1st Place.
It took Drew what? 1 Week to get him into the building vs 10 weeks or more with the other agent?

    What does it mean?
It means Haason Reddick will get Credit for this Season and Will be a Unrestricted Free Agent Next Season.

It’s almost like Haason Reddick hit the Jets with the “who all over there?” He was not pulling up…until someone said “Davante is here” and he changed his mind. https://t.co/mrxKJpS6Bc

A team with Tyron Smith, Haason Reddick, Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers would look like a Super Bowl contender…. in 2021.

Add those players to the 2024 Jets, and… well, I guess we’ll see.

First, Davante Adams. Then throw in Haason Reddick. Mix in a win on SNF and I’d say that’s a fairly good week for any football team #Jets
